# Team Members

> Invite teammates to your TesterArmy workspace, choose their role, share a team invite link, transfer ownership, and manage multiple workspaces.

A workspace (also called a team) holds your projects, tests, runs, and billing. Everyone in a workspace sees the same projects. Every plan includes unlimited members, see [Plans and Pricing](/account/plans-and-pricing).

Open **Settings** from the workspace menu at the top of the sidebar. The workspace group has three tabs:

| Tab | What it holds |
| --------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **General** | Workspace image, **Name**, **Slug**, and the **Workspace ID** used with the CLI, API, and MCP server |
| **Members** | Current members, pending invitations, and **Leave workspace** |
| **Usage and billing** | Plan, run usage, and upgrades |

## Roles

| Role | Permissions |
| --------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Owner** | Everything an admin can do, plus **Transfer ownership** and **Delete workspace**. Each workspace has one owner. |
| **Admin** | Full access, plus members, billing and settings: invite and remove members, change roles, manage the team invite link, edit workspace settings, and change the plan. |
| **User** | Can create, edit and run tests in every project of the workspace. |

Owner is not a role you can invite with. Ownership is only transferred.

## Invite members

1. Open **Settings → Members** and click **Invite**, or choose **Invite members** from the workspace menu.
2. Under **Invite by email**, type an address and press space or enter. Add as many addresses as you need.
3. Pick **Admin** or **User** from the role dropdown in the email field.
4. Click **Send invites**.

Each address gets an email with a link to join. Invitations expire after 7 days, and the invitee must sign in with the address the invitation was sent to. If some addresses fail, for example because the person is already a member or was already invited, the dialog lists them with the reason and keeps them in the field so you can fix and resend.

Pending invitations appear under **Invited** on the **Members** tab. Open the **...** menu on an invitation to **Resend invitation**, **Copy invite link**, or **Cancel invitation**. An expired invitation cannot be resent: cancel it and send a new one.

### Team invite link

Turn on **Team invite link** in the **Invite members** dialog to get a shareable link. Anyone with the link can join your workspace with the User role. The link expires after 7 days. Turning the switch off deactivates the current link, and turning it on again creates a new one.

## Change a role or remove a member

Owners and admins can open the **...** menu next to any member except the owner and themselves:

* Choose **Admin** or **User** to change the role.
* Choose **Remove from team** to remove the member. They lose access to all workspace projects.

## Transfer ownership

Only the owner can transfer ownership. Open the **...** menu next to a member and click **Transfer ownership**. The new owner takes over, your role changes to admin, and only the new owner can transfer ownership back or delete the workspace.

## Leave a workspace

Admins and users can leave from **Settings → Members** with **Leave workspace**. You lose access to its projects and need a new invitation to rejoin.

* You cannot leave your last workspace. Join or create another workspace first.
* The owner cannot leave. Transfer ownership first, or delete the workspace.

## Multiple workspaces

You can belong to several workspaces. Open the workspace menu at the top of the sidebar to switch between them, or click **Create a workspace** to start a new one.

Each workspace has its own plan and run limit. Only your first workspace gets the Free plan; other workspaces need a paid plan before they can run tests. See [Plans and Pricing](/account/plans-and-pricing).

The owner can delete a workspace under **Settings → General** with **Delete workspace**. Your default workspace cannot be deleted, and a workspace with an active subscription must cancel it first.

## CLI, API, and MCP

Workspace members and invitations are managed in the dashboard only. API keys are created for one workspace, so the [CLI](/cli) and the API act on the workspace the key belongs to. In the [MCP server](/cli/mcp), team-scoped tools default to your only workspace; when you belong to several, the `list_teams` tool returns their IDs to pass as `teamId`. The same ID is shown as **Workspace ID** under **Settings → General**.
